Questions and Trends in the Curriculum – From Technology to Global Awareness

Many instant and complex problems upset teachers today. With positive and negative global impacts, instructors need to look beyond the educational background. Students will become not only the products of their school but the shaping forces of society, defining the success and failure of the nation's future. Teachers, educators, and leaders must work together to develop a well-defined curriculum that involves learning the different cultures. Our next generation must cope with culture-related issues and become respectable adults who are just and just for the global society.

Technology plays an important role in today's education and even more in the future. Especially in countries where economic and political situations are stable, access to the Internet and computers has to be available as a tool to maximize curriculum and communicate between trainers, even in the intranet scope. This technology should be available to all schools in schools financed by taxes and grants.

Technology can also close the differences between education levels worldwide. Because of the political and socio-economic differences between countries, it is impossible for this technology to reach all parts of the world, but efforts must be made to convince everyone that education is everywhere fairy-tale. For this, volunteers, donations and assistance are needed for internationally-capable countries. Even though schools would have only one computer in each city in that country, that would make a difference.

The other reason is that technology has a significant impact on our curriculum development to expand cultural knowledge. The need to understand different cultures is a matter of today's education and societies, as relationships between countries are increasingly intertwined. The United States has always been a country of diversity; but for the longest time the content of the curriculum is selectively western oriented.

For example, high school world history courses focused primarily on European and Western history. Now we can use technology to design a world-class curriculum that not only covers part of world history, but also extends. The University of San Diego, in collaboration with the Los Angeles University School History Center, provides online information on world history and helps teachers provide full curricula without excluding most of the world's people, events or times (San Diego State University, 2007).

We also need to use technology to create a curriculum for creating international awareness, understanding different cultures, and getting to know different opinions and values. courses

should focus on preventing obstacles against others and encouraging mutual respect and understanding of other cultures and beliefs. One way of promoting cultural exchange is technological communication. Thanks to today's technology development, students from all over the world can actually use computers to meet and talk to each other. Efforts to promote such communication must be encouraged and assisted by the government, various organizations and individuals. One day using technology in education people will know that we are all part of the community of the world.
